Annie Lennox
| Annie Lennox is a Scottish born singer. Her birth date was the 25th of December in 1954, at Aberdeen. Dorothy Farquharson and Thomas Allison Lennox are her parents. Lennox went to the Royal Academy of Music, London in the 70s. She studied the harpsichord and flautist piano over 3 years. She was able to survive on a student allowance and worked part-time to supplement her budget. Lennox as she was studying in the Royal Academy of Music in London, was not happy about her performances compared to that of her classmates. She began considering different options. Lennox played the flute in the 1976 group called Dragons Playground. But she quit before the band was requested to take part in I.T.V.'s talent show New Faces. She sang lead to The Tourists (a British popband) between 1977 and 1980. In this band, she met Dave Stewart who would later form Eurythmics. After that, Lennox started working for her debut album as a solo artist Diva that was released in the year 1992. Both commercially as well as critically the album was a massive success. Nostalgia Lennoxs sixth solo album came out in the month of October, 2014. The C.D. Lennox chose her favorite blues and soul from early childhood. Lepidoptera features four keyboard tracks. The E.P. is a companion piece to her art installation at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art called"Now, I'll let You go... It's also her first independently released album. In the following years, Lennox joined her fellow artist Dave Stewart to form the pop duo Eurythmics. Lennox's debut album in 1992 Diva featured a number of hit songs, including Why and Walking on Broken Glass. Medusa, her 1995 album studio, features cover versions of the songs No MoreI Love Yous and A Whiter Shade of Pale. The singer is acknowledged with six studio albums solo and a compilation. |
