Linda Blair
Linda Blair was five years young when she became the first child actress to get a role in The Exorcist. She had worked as a model for the previous three years prior to her role as the child that was demonized, Regan. Linda Blair quickly rose to notoriety and was awarded an award called the Golden Globe. She was likely to win an Academy Award. But when the story leaked that some roles were actually dubbed and that a stunt dummy acted for just eight seconds, the whole idea went down the drain. Over the next few years she had no trouble securing lead roles in a number of pictures, including the highly successful television films Born Innocent (1974) (the number one TV show of that year) and Sarah T. - Portrait of a Teenage Alcoholic (1975), as well as the Exorcist sequel Exorcist II: The Heretic (1977). When she bought cocaine under social pressure when she was 18 this resulted in being arrested and sentenced to three years probation. The much-publicized drug bust caused Linda to be banned from Hollywood and her acting career was soon reduced to B-movies, and occasionally TV appearances as a guest
